Steve Kofford, PhD

Steve Kofford is an Assistant Professor of Management at Mississippi State University. His primary research interests include strategic management, human capital, and corporate purpose. Currently, he is studying how companies authentically convey their corporate purpose and the impact of corporate purpose on employee outcomes such as motivation and turnover.

Before entering academia, Steve gained valuable experience as a consultant with Deloitte Consulting, where he provided expert guidance to corporate clients navigating significant mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transformations. Before his tenure at Deloitte, Steve worked in corporate strategy at Aon Consulting, a prominent human capital consulting firm. In this role, he advised the firm's C-suite on various strategic initiatives spanning the organization. Steve also has experience in impact investing and social enterprise.

Steve holds a Ph.D. in strategy and entrepreneurship from the University of Utah. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA from Brigham Young University. Additionally, he earned a Master's degree in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.
