Core to the development of an HR strategy is building an understanding of the key business strategies and initiatives that must be accomplished during the term of the plan. These are typically articulated in a formal corporate strategic plan, but lacking such a documented plan, direct conversations with business leaders should be held to clarify the primary goals and objectives that business leaders have laid out for the organization.
