How it works

Past behavior is one of the better predictors of future behavior. Based on that insight, the quality of interviews and the predictive value of candidate answers can be enhanced by seeking a comprehensive understanding of each candidate’s past behaviors in job-similar and work-relevant situations. Several different types of interviews can be used in tandem to generate a range of unique insights into the tasks an individual has performed, how they have approached different work situations, challenges, and circumstances, what skills and capabilities they have drawn upon, and what outcomes they have achieved.

The advanced interview techniques fall into two categories: 1) the interview environment in which candidates are evaluated, and 2) the method of questioning used. Each has its strengths and use cases.
