Purpose

The Performance Consulting Assessment Tool documents conversation(s) with functional managers who are facing specific workforce challenges that the learning & development team members then use to create solutions for those managers. The tool helps guide the conversation with the managers and provides clarity regarding the problem statement and manager preferences, biases, and concerns. 

How to use this tool

The tool is used when meeting with a functional manager during what is called an “intake meeting”. It guides questioning regarding the issues being faced in a standardized way to get a full understanding of their perception of the challenges and reasons for those challenges. It assesses the data that is available to quantify or further confirm an understanding of the challenges that need to be resolved.
