Purpose

The Organizational Scan (SWOT) Worksheet is a tool designed to assess the organization's internal and external factors influencing strategic goals. It enables teams to evaluate areas of strength to leverage, weaknesses to address, opportunities to pursue, and threats to mitigate. By ranking and prioritizing insights, it provides clarity on where to focus efforts for organizational and employee wellness improvements.

How to use this tool

The worksheet should be used collaboratively in a working session with stakeholders or HR team members.

  1. Brainstorm each category (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) individually or as a facilitated group discussion.
  2. List the relevant strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for the business, the talent within the organization, or the health and well-being of the workforce.
  3. Have members of the working group individually rank each section based on what will have the biggest impact on the organization.
  4. Combine the rankings to identify the top priorities and discuss them as a team, identifying areas needing clarity or refinement.
  5. Document the top priorities in the Identified Priorities section, ensuring clarity and agreement on next steps.
