Purpose

A template to draft SMART goals that emphasizes each element of a quality goal, including specificity, measurability, achievability, the relevance of the goal to the individual’s job and organization, as well as the timeframe by which the goal will be achieved. 

How to use this tool

The employee drafts a series of job-related goals that are linked to their specific role, department, function, and/or business unit. Next, professional development goals that are linked to either career goals, current weaknesses, or competencies to be developed. The employee then presents the goals to the functional manager for review, discussion/updating, and finalization.
