A template used to facilitate assessing each direct team member on several variables, including performance, relationship, energy, type of thinker, and potential exit risk. Some variables use a red, yellow, and green ranking to create a visual heat map, while others use a simple reference mark. For each team member, there is also an associated actions and notes section to submit more thorough descriptions and thoughts on how an executive should approach that team member. When complete, this mapping will help an executive identify where the team has strengths, and if there are any gaps that need to be filled to achieve the identified priorities for the year.
The first step is filling in the Team Member's Name and their individual Role for any direct reports to the executive. This should also include any administrative support the executive receives. Additional columns can be added or deleted to ensure that the proper amount is visible for each executive’s unique team. Next, the executive should fill in the Skills rows with each of the pre-identified skills that they have flagged as necessary for successfully accomplishing their priorities for the year. Additional rows can be added or deleted to ensure that the proper amount is visible.
